Key of Z #3 Review
Last issue Claudio Sanchez & Chandra Echert gave us a better understanding as to why Ewing is on a mission to take out Lavoe. In Key of Z # 3 we see how Ewing beheaded Jackson’s brother with the hopes of gaining Lavoe’s trust long enough to gain trust for his revenge. Keep your friends close but your enemies closer anyone? Ewing enters Yankee Stadium forcefully and demands to speak to Lavoe and after presenting Jackson’s beheaded brothers head to Lavoe Ewing is forced to give up the head and thrown in jail. Things might not turn out in Ewing’s favor after all….
That’s the issue. Literally.
Key of Z #3 was a bit slow on the reading end and with barely any action happening in issue #3 other then filling in a few blanks for us. I honestly couldn’t get into the issue. I am not saying the issue was bad just not enough going on with it to hold my interest. The story continues to progress and other then the beheading of Jackson’s brother and a small flash back of Ewing with his family nothing else really happens. Issues 1 & 2 were pretty strong so I am pretty confident Claudio Sanchez & Chandra Echert will finish the series off on a high note. I am still hoping the Key of Z mini series leads into a monthly series down the road. I really think there’s plenty that can be done with the series and I think Ewing can carry the series very well if developed further.
